The owners of this Madera Ranchos home wanted to convert their mostly lawn front yard to a very low water use landscape considering the severe water restrictions in their area. Following a spray program to kill the lawn, the lawn was removed and Lemon Cove boulders were added. A very minimal number of plants were installed, including part of the owners’ cactus collection, ornamental grasses, Rosemary, Red Yucca, Autumn Sage, and Barberry. Rock mulch and flagstone was added throughout to add interest and keep weeds down. The irrigation method was converted to drip irrigation.
